ABOUT

James McManus is a Registered Certified Professional Soil Scientist (CPSS #15226) with a B.S. degree in Agronomy and an M.S. degree in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Connecticut. He has conducted over 3,000 (and counting) wetland delineations and assessments throughout New England and the U.S.


With primary expertise in wetland and hydric soil assessment and delineations, other areas of expertise include:

 

  • USACE wetland resource area determinations

  • Wetland inventory/functional assessments

  • Construction and erosion control monitoring

  • Vernal pool surveys/assessments

  • Surface water quality sampling

  • Linear wetland survey along proposed natural gas pipelines, overhead power lines, and fiber optic lines

  • Wetland permitting and compliance services as well as wetland survey utilizing a global positioning system (GPS)   

 

As a soil scientist, Mr. McManus has conducted post-construction surface water quality sampling and report preparation from inlet and outlet structures associated with storm water treatment systems at retail development sites, as well as surface water and groundwater sampling on golf courses.
